Job Description

The Plant Cost Accountant supports financial planning, reporting, accounting, and business analysis processes necessary to support Company objectives. Ensures all financial cost reports and analyses comply with appropriate accounting principles and company policies, accurately reflect the condition of the business, and provide reliable information necessary to control operations. Supports monthly financial reporting, forecasting, annual audit, and budgeting processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports Plant Manufacturing by facilitating cost reports, respective analysis including monthly closing documents. The following tasks are encompassed in the effort:
    • Material Use Variances (MUV) analysis and labor performance tracking.
    • COGS analysis of the various departments within manufacturing
  • Supports new product setup and costing of the bill of materials (BOM’s) for all of plant manufacturing.
  • Prepare and provide financial support throughout the period and close by preparing period JE for manufacturing activity.
  • Provide oversight and maintain support with Finance, Budget / Forecasting Teams, and other related support departments.
  • Research and analyze period financial activity ensuring proper BOM set ups, scrap percentages, inventory, and MUV’s.
  • Supports Company’s audits to ensure legal compliance and inventory control.
  • Assist in developing cost accounting procedures and respective SOP’s.
  • Assist in transitioning from existing cost accounting system to modern platforms (SAP HANA)
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities, as deemed necessary.

 

 

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s (BSBA) degree in accounting or finance

Required Experience:

  • 2+ years of previous work in Accounting/Finance, preferably with an emphasis in cost manufacturing environment.       
  • Prior experience with an ERP system like SAP

Preferred Experience:

  • SAP/SAP HANA
  • Power BI Tools and Analytics

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must work effectively with all levels of management and employees.
  • Must demonstrate effective leadership, problem solving, presentation, and employee motivational skills.
  • Proficient in Internet navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Ability to calculate using fractions, decimals, percentages, count, record, and analyze reports.

Additional Information

The pay range for this role is $63,040 - $86,680 (Annual). Actual wage will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience. Base pay is just one component of Jack Link’s Total Rewards package for Team Members. Other rewards may include annual incentive and program-specific awards. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment is a plant/office setting with varying degrees of temperatures and noise levels. Exposure to manufacturing equipment movement and wet/slippery floors. However, the vast amount of work is conducted in a climate-controlled office. Travel may be required.
