Job Description

The Social Media and Members Manager is responsible for planning, managing and executing social media strategies as well as other projects revolving around our members – i.e. referral programs, contests etc.  across multiple channels. The Social Media and Members Manager, in collaboration with other members of the PLNDR and Karmaloop team, will implement the social media strategy by overseeing the day-to-day operations and community management of the very active PLNDR social media platforms. The ideal candidate is a creative individual with a passion for social media, verge culture and street wear fashion and who will be able to emotionally connect with our audience.

  • Be our member’s advocate for all of our marketing initiatives: be the voice of our members in everything that we do, help them help us run the show
  • Think creatively and strategically in order to successfully develop social media plans and member centric programs that fit into the overall marketing goals objectives
  • Track, analyze, optimize and report on social media programs to help meet objectives
  • Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders to:
    • Develop strategies, tactics and editorial calendars to support business priorities in social media; advise on social media integrations into business priorities
    • Oversee social media products available for sponsorship, including calendar, creative execution and reporting
    • Procure unique content to support social media efforts and initiatives
    • Share community feedback, identify potential issues, manage day-to-day responses, as well as strategize for long-term issues management
  • Experiment with new and alternative ways to leverage social media to achieve overall marketing objectives and goals
  • Monitor trends in social media tools and stay up to date in all changes in the social media space

Qualifications

  • Must have previous and proven experience significantly growing awareness (following, likes etc…), and reporting/analyzing effectiveness of campaigns.
  • A clear understanding of and passion for all marketing (traditional, new media, guerilla and ‘word of mouth’)
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills
  • Active and engaged participant in social media (provide links)
  • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms and their users (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, Pinterest, tumblr etc.)
  • Savvy and knowledgeable about current social media trends and innovations
  • Depth of knowledge with social media best practices
  • Solid understanding of digital content, communication and marketing principles
  • Familiarity with social media tracking tools and plugins like radian6, piqora, offerpop etc
