Job Description

We are currently seeking a Domestic Transportation Lead to join our team. In this role, you will lead our KPI reporting while maintaining a deep understanding of the daily transportation operations. You will be primarily responsible for reviewing, overseeing and tracking daily operational transportation tasks along with leading the creation, maintenance and reporting of critical KPI metrics within the Domestic Transportation team. The position also requires addressing customer service inquiries, problem solving and ensuring an elevated level of service for both internal and external customers. The Domestic Transportation Lead will be actively familiar with the details and be able to analyze data, recommend actions and execute to meet our service needs. Applicants should have transportation experience with distribution centers creating LTL, FTL and Parcel shipments with multiple carriers and providers. The ideal candidate enjoys digging into the details and optimizing processes, while still being involved in the daily transportation operations.

A day in the office looks like this:

  • Gathering data from multiple sources, including databases, spreadsheets and various other sources to create high-level visual representations of data (using tools like Power BI or Excel) to make findings easier to understand and assist in decision-making
  • Facilitating and/or coordinating transportation operations and ensuring the movement and tracking of all LTL, FTL and Parcel shipments from origin distribution center to destination
  • Establishing relationships and interacting with internal/external customers, distribution centers, intermodal providers, and both LTL and FTL carriers to ensure shipments are delivered on time and meet all customer expectations
  • Managing trailer equipment and schedules to ensure seamless execution of dock door rotations at our distribution centers
  • Actively improving data quality by working with internal and external partners
  • Quoting, routing and tracking domestic outbound and inbound shipments for multiple distribution centers for spot quote shipments
  • Generating and distributing time-sensitive reports across the organization to assist with weekly, monthly and annual requirements
  • Supporting distribution centers and the Transportation Leadership team with ad hoc tasks and projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in transportation, logistics, supply chain or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in transportation, supply chain or analytics
  • Experience with Salesforce.com, ERP (SAP preferred) or TMS systems
  • Transportation experience with a distribution center creating LTL, FTL and Parcel shipments with multiple carriers and providers
  • Experience creating and presenting dashboard-style reporting and KPI metrics using Power BI
  • Experience creating pivot tables and charts, using formulas, including VLOOKUP and conditional formatting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Robust organizational and multitasking abilities with strong follow-through skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, clear and concise verbal and written communication, and the ability to build relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to adeptly manage multiple projects, deliver outstanding customer service and effectively collaborate with internal departments
  • An intense sense of urgency, problem solving and decision-making skills, and a proactive can-do attitude

At Lakeshore, we pay local market wages for employees that reside within Los Angeles and Orange Counties.

For this position, new employees joining Lakeshore who live within Los Angeles and Orange Counties are typically brought into the organization at a salary between $82,000-$90,000 depending on relevant experience & skillset.

This range is indicative of projected hiring range. The annual base compensation will take into account each candidate's relevant experience, location, and skillset.
