Main Street Renewal LLC is a privately held company engaged in the business of acquiring U.S. single family properties and converting them to leasable homes. We improve each property and as a result will expand the supply of well-maintained and affordable housing units in a number of cities around the country. In the process, we will provide an attractive market clearing bid for sellers and by making a long term investment, increase value for other home owners, helping to stabilize and improve the surrounding neighborhoods while expanding the tax base. We strive to create efficiency throughout the process with the goal of creating constructive and professional relationships with owners of single family real estate, our tenants and the communities where the properties are located.

As our Database Engineer you will use your broad skill set and passion for data to design and develop an operational data analytics platform for our Single Family Buy-to-Rent business which will provide property level operational reports for each property within our nationwide portfolio. In addition to developing the data warehouse you will also be responsible for ETL and BI reporting systems design and providing reports and tools that allow our team to understand the data and make critical future business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Create ETL scripts for data integration into the data repository or data marts from source systems
• Develop tools, scripts, and queries to automate validation of data
• Utilize SQL & .NET tools and technologies to develop the data warehouse/data mart, including data import tools and BI reporting infrastructure
• Ensure timely availability of accurate data in our data warehouse
• Develop tools, API integrations, etc. to support BI reporting
• Develop tools, scripts, and queries to automate the validation of data
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with data feeds  

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven track record of designing and delivering scalable software solutions to solve complex data problems
• Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL), physical database design & modeling
• SQL performance analysis and tuning using the latest tools and techniques
• ETL design and development with SSIS or C#
• Deep experience with enterprise reporting tools such as SSRS or Tableau
• Ability to take ownership of projects with diligence and consistency in carrying out tasks with a high level of attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to function well in a team oriented and fast paced interrupt driven environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or 3 - 7 years related field

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience with cloud technologies; AWS, EC2, S3, Redshift, Azure, etc. is a plus
• Familiarity with big data, NoSQL and/or MapReduce technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Pig, etc.) is a plus
• Familiarity and experience with SSAS OLAP cubes and MDX
