Position Profile:  Onboarding Specialist (Waterloo, IA)

Position Summary

The Onboarding Specialist position is an important leadership role at Omega.  This position is responsible for implementing, improving, managing and sustaining Omega’s new employee onboarding (NEO) and post- NEO programs.

Good organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills are key expectations of this role. Self-motivated and highly organized, you must demonstrate and sustain exceptional follow-through, initiative, and commitment to excellence.

The candidate for this position needs to be able to support any on the job training (offline and on production floor) as is it required.  Modify, develop and effectively utilize training programs to include machine operation, safety, quality and paced production.  Facilitate annual refresher trainings for all associates.

Flexibility of work hours, including overtime and off shift coverage where needed.

Organizational Relationship:
This position will report to the HR Manager.

  • Interpret, apply, and/or consistently enforce all company policies, programs, rules, regulation and safety rules.

  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Education, Experience & Attributes

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must have a strong attendance record and be seen as reliable.
  • Must be able to read, understand and create SOS/SOP work instructions.
  • Advanced computer and writing skills utilizing various technical platforms
  • Capable of reading and understanding production documents and safety manuals
  • Collaboration, works cooperatively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives.
  • Some college preferred along with High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years’ experience working in industrial production is strongly preferred
  • Physically capable of manual labor that includes lifting, bending, and reaching
