Job Description

Ronald McDonald House Charities, Inc. (RMHC) is seeking a dynamic Director of Technology to establish, implement and execute a multi-year strategic technology roadmap aligned with organizational goals to support the new vision of our global organization and Chapters across 60+ countries and regions.

Leading a team of six, the ideal candidate will provide strong leadership across all technology areas, including services, support, infrastructure, applications, and data. They will have extensive knowledge in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, data governance, digital transformation, application development, and emerging technologies. The candidate must excel in strategic thinking, developing and implementing technology plans aligned with RMHC’s mission, and balancing important and urgent initiatives.

They will ensure alignment between technology investments and functional capabilities, manage technology projects effectively, and mitigate organizational and technological risks. Innovation and adaptability are key, along with the ability to connect with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring experience, energy, and insight to collaborate with RMHC functional teams and guide the RMHC technology strategy and roadmap across the RMHC System. 

Key Responsibilities:

Technology Strategy & Planning

  • Establish, implement and execute a multi-year strategic technology roadmap aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to build long-term plans for technology growth in support of the RMHC System and the RMHC Impact Strategy.
  • Lead and drive change management processes related to the implementation of the technology roadmap.
  • Evaluate and prioritize technology investments to maximize ROI and operational efficiency while minimizing risk.
  • Identify and implement innovative technology solutions to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate technology-related risks.

Technology Operations

  • Oversee multiple technology projects, ensuring timely, within-scope, and budget-compliant completion.
  • Establish and manage a multi-year technology budget aligned with the roadmap along with strong processes for monitoring, recording, and tracking.
  • Develop and maintain policies to protect IT infrastructure, data privacy, and cybersecurity.
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.

People & Organizational Management

  • Chair the RMHC Technology Advisory Committee.
  • Prepare and present technology strategy, project updates, and risk assessments to senior leadership, the Technology Advisory Committee, and the Board of Trustees.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 6+ internal technology professionals.
  • Build positive relationships across RMHC Global functional teams and RMHC Chapters to enable effective action plans.
  • Engage with initiative owners to understand and shape project progression, ensuring cross-functional priorities and dependencies are communicated.

The expected salary range for this role is $168,350 – $218,860 per year

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field. Advanced degree and/or technology-related certifications are a plus.
  • 12+ years of experience in a technology-related field.
  • Ability to network within a large global organization and build trusted relationships.
  • Strong ability to develop and advance technology strategy as an enabler of business strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing large-scale, global change initiatives.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a desire to deliver results.
  • Strong business acumen, including tactical and critical thinking, data driven decision making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Forward-thinking with the ability to anticipate immediate and long-term implications of decisions and identify dependencies across initiatives.
