Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:


• In charge of the crops to obtain vegetables by applying hydroponic techniques with the required quality and in compliance with all established health and safety regulations.

• Oversee maintenance of hydroponic and nursery equipment and Keeping track of inventory and ordering supplies like nutrients and seeds.

• Choose plants to be planted for each growing season that can be grown cost effectively hydroponically
• Foster and grow our hydroponic and nursery, develop good relationships with chefs, and ensure availability of locally grown vegetables, herbs and micro herbs.


• Setting the climate and equipment for the plants, and maintaining a controlled environment with the right amount of water and nutrients


• Establish the environmental conditions required to grow trees, shrubs, flowers, vegetables and plants, and design planting and care schedules accordingly for the nursery.


• Monitoring the plants, ensuring they're protected from pests, and providing basic maintenance.


• Record planting data to include yields and weights, understand and interpret plant monitoring and documentation of growth and plant health data sets


• Maintain and repair irrigation and climate control systems, build agricultural structures and operate irrigation systems.


• Dig, rake, and screen soil, filling cold frames and hot beds in preparation for planting.


• Ensuring that the Nursery and grounds are well always maintained.


• To carry out research tests on hydroponic crops in open spaces


• Assist in Chef Garden and other landscaping and garden related works as and when asked to by the manager.


• Participate in departmental meetings and attend all departmental trainings and other training program.


• Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, and use correct lifting procedures as necessary to avoid injury.


• Ensure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional.

 

Qualifications

  • Completed GCE O' Level 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Hydroponic Gardener, either on a farm or in a resort setting.
  • Fluent in spoken English
  • Positive attitude and pleasant personality
