Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Manager to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing our organization's procurement processes, managing vendor relationships, and driving cost-effective purchasing strategies.
- Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with organizational goals
- Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and quality standards
- Analyze market trends, supply chain risks, and opportunities to inform procurement decisions
- Manage the entire procurement lifecycle, from requisition to payment
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure timely delivery of goods and services
- Implement and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and best practices
- Utilize ERP systems to streamline procurement processes and enhance data-driven decision-making
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports on procurement activities and cost savings
- Ensure compliance with local and international procurement regulations and standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a proven track record of success
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a team
- Expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiation
- Proficiency in cost analysis, budgeting, and financial management
- Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- In-depth understanding of supply chain management principles and best practices
- Knowledge of industry-specific procurement practices and international trade regulations
- Professional certification such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
