Job Description
Position Summary:
The Assistant Director helps to oversee all Mansion related issues. This individual has experience in all things related to management and administrative duties. The mission for the Assistant Director is to aid the Director, however needed, in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of operations at the Governor’s Mansion. The position collaborates with diverse groups daily and requires a high level of communication, flexibility, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Assists with coordination and planning of all special events:
- The Assistant Director will be responsible for managing all billing and accounts receivable.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Top-notch organizational skills necessary to deal with large amounts of information and a high volume of scheduling requests.
- Proven ability to recognize and prioritize urgent matters.
- Proven ability to be a good communicator.
- Proven ability to be proactive and honest about upcoming challenges and opportunities.
- Recognize deadlines, meetings, media moments, and help prepare the office with appropriate information, scheduling, and communication to other staff.
- Proven ability to treat divisive issues with a professional neutrality and distance.
- Introductory knowledge of food service management, hotel and resort management and event management.
- Ability to use a variety of desktop publishing software packages.
- Ability to interact professionally with agency officials, other employees and the general public.
- Ability to communicate with special interest groups, employee groups and the general public.
- Ability to work carefully, deliberately, and is highly-organized, timely, thorough and accurate.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Preferred experience in Hospitality Management
- 1 - 3 years’ experience in clerical and administrative work such as answering phones, filing, and daily office operation.
