Job Description
Summer 2025 Internship Program:

- Program Dates: June 2 – August 8, 2025
- Time Commitment: 40 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need.
- Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from New York, NY.

The Entertainment Group develops and schedules the network’s primetime, late-night, and daytime entertainment programming, including USA, SYFY, Bravo, E!, Oxygen, and Universal Kids. NBC’s quality programs and balanced line-up have earned the network critical acclaim, numerous awards and ratings success, including most recently winning the traditional September-to-May season in primetime’s key demo, marking the network’s third win in four years. NBC has earned more Emmy Awards than any network in television history.
Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:
- Bravo, E! and Oxygen Multiplatform Strategy & Planning: We are looking for an intern who can join the team and make a large impact across the biggest show campaigns, scripted and non-scripted series, news and live events within our portfolio. This individual will be tasked with planning and scheduling daily logs on selected networks and working with the overall marketing group to determine the best approach to take when we receive our plethora of promotional content
- Entertainment Casting: Maintain internal talent database, curate daily casting news from trades, create grids for upcoming theater/comedy events and film festivals, compile ongoing list of upcoming TV premiere dates, learn essential casting software (Breakdown Express, CasIt, IMDb, etc), become familiar with the casting process for NBCUniversal scripted shows (read scripts, see breakdowns, etc.)
- Entertainment Current Production- Unscripted: Watch episode cuts of shows in production and provide notes. Entertainment Content production interns will also assist producers with pulling clips, read and summarize hot sheets for shows in production, as well as update department lists and grids, create trade reports regarding the latest in entertainment, pop culture, the news, etc, and assist Production Coordinators with ad hoc projects as needed
- Post-Production Operations: The Post Operations team partners with team members across the Creative Marketing, Engineering, Technology, Digital and Social teams. This arm of our team helps innovate, align and improve efficiencies for all post production workflow across the ELG Marketing Supply Chain. Interns will assist the Operations and Post Operation team with fulfilling media requests; maintaining team documents, support Creative and Production, effectively, continuously, in a timely manner communicate project status and delivery timelines to all parties, lead and maintain trackers and communication for tasks including onboarding new Production Companies, Vendors and Staff to NBCUniversal servers, tools and workflows
- Unscripted Development- Lifestyle, Crime, Documentary: Prep for, attend, and participate in weekly development meetings, conduct research and create documents tracking talent, competition, industry trends and new show ideas, watch cuts of new programming in various stages of completion, providing feedback and assisting with the creative process, manage, update and take ownership of grids outlining various information pertaining to slate of series in development, research case checks for crime development projects, provide creative input on pitches, cuts, casting, talent bookings and digital extensions
- USA & Sports Multiplatform Strategy & Planning: The Multiplatform Strategy and Promotions Team within NBCU oversees linear promotions on NBC Sports and Entertainment Networks (NBC Sports, USA, GOLF, SYFY and Universal Kids Channels). The team works with content services to create promotional content which helps promote all linear programming on a daily basis. We are looking for an intern who can join the team and make a large impact. This individual will be tasked with planning and scheduling daily logs on selected networks and working with the overall marketing group to determine the best approach to take when we receive our plethora of promotional content
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (June 2025 through August 2025). May 2025 graduates are not eligible for our Summer 2025 Internship Program.
- Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
- Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.
NBCUniversal is an E-Verify company, requiring all employees to have an active Social Security number. Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.
Desired Characteristics:
- Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Strong writing, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Social media savvy and awareness of latest global trends.
- Interest in production/development, casting and/or talent management, unscripted content, entertainment news and pop culture.
- Script coverage experience preferred, but not required.
- Familiarity with Adobe Premiere + Adobe Creative Suite, Media Encoder, video editing, and/or media management software.
The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $17.50.
