Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Lead the content creation, programming and distribution of the 24/7 Sports FAST channel.
  • Manage channel programming grid working closely with the management team.
  • Manage the FAST channel content team and develop strategies to grow content, audience, and engagement.
  • Lead content and programming team to develop workflows that deliver 24-hour digital programming
  • Analyze and actively use data and metrics to inform editorial and strategic decisions, and to create accountability for results.
  • Lead the content team to identify new content types, and innovative technologies to help us reach and serve new audiences.
  • Create unique, engaging, and shareable content. Must have a deep understanding of Digital and Social Media platforms for best journalism practices.
  • Teach, coach, and mentor members of the content, team in the best practices for writing and producing content for digital platforms.
  • Use social media and digital tools to research, discover, and distribute content.
  • Collaborate with content leaders across the business to maximize the sharing of our content and to leverage innovation and best practices.
  • Working closely with linear to leverage linear content in all platforms and develop workflows to integrate linear with digital.
  • Working closely with the Digital Production leadership.
  • Adapt current resources to emerging technology and work with Telemundo O&T to find efficiencies and deliver content for the Sports FAST channel.
  • Collaborate with Sports Sales and Partnerships teams to find ways to generate revenue with Sports FAST channel productions with sponsorships and integrations.
  • Work with various departments across Telemundo such as legal, finance, distribution, research and marketing in order to manage all related needs to the Sports FAST channel.
  • Effective coordination/ communication with operations, product and marketing teams.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Journalism, Communications, or a related field, and 10 years of experience in the job offered or in linear television. Stated experience must include experience in the following:
    • Managing production and programming teams for a FAST channel;
    • Experience using a variety of content management systems to distribute channel programming grid.
  • Must be fluent in Spanish.

Additional Requirements:

  • This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
