New Light Technologies seeks the services of a Subject Matter Expert - Master. The position requirements summarized below reflect those of a senior – level network architect/engineer under the client's program. Our client provides managed voice, data and video wire-based and wireless services to all government constituents city-wide over a secure, highly redundant and high capacity fiber optic telecommunications platform. This standards-based platform lays the foundation for all next-generation government and public safety communications throughout the District. The client is a program managed by OCTO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities • The SME manages weekly timesheets, weekly status report, project management, and project assignments. • Responsible for overall IP network design and architecture. • Responsible for SONET Architecture, RPR design, test and deployment. • Responsible for IP/MPLS backbone engineering and provisioning. • Responsible for tier-3 issues with Cisco Routers and Switches. • Responsible for Voice and Data testing, turn up and cutover. • Responsible for capacity planning, management and QOS deployment. • Responsible for new product development, testing and deployment. • Responsible for Tier-3 and day to day operational support. • Responsible for providing support to customer support specialists with regards to company products and technology. • SME for the following technology clusters: o Data Centers Design o Network Security Design o Video and Voice over IP Design o IPv4/IPv6 Internet Peering o Network Management and Monitoring

(a) Serves as subject matter expert, possessing in-depth knowledge of a particular area, such as business, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or the various sciences.

(b) Provides technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems that need extensive knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.

(c) Participates as needed in all phases of software development with emphasis on the planning, documentation, and presentation phases.

(d) Applies principles, methods and knowledge of the functional area of capability to specific task order requirements, advanced mathematical principles and methods to exceptionally difficult and narrowly defined technical problems in engineering and other scientific applications to arrive at automated solutions
