Job Description
The Production Shift Supervisor will supervise hourly employees in the continuous operation of the plant’s production activities. In addition, they will assist in maintaining focus on overall plant goals, safety, continuous process improvements, good labor relations climate, and outstanding quality and production efficiencies.
The Production Shift Supervisor should have:
- Ability to delegate assignments and monitor responsibilities of work groups that effect the throughput, quality and safety of shift operation
- Knowledge and understanding all customer requirements and understanding of plant emergency procedures
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coach, counsel and discipline employees
The Production Shift Supervisor will:
- Ensure quality and productivity by monitoring and performing mechanical, visual, and informational system checks
- Review shift operation and make recommendations regarding how plant operations can further improve to meet service, quality, safety and productivity goals
- Ensure that all people in the work group are adequately trained and are knowledgeable of department procedures
- Monitor control charts and review process shifts with key personnel
Qualifications
- High School Degree or equivalent
- Experience supervising/leading people and processes in a 24/7 manufacturing environment, ideally a union facility
- Previous glass industry experience is highly preferred
- Proven ability to coach, motivate, and lead hourly employees
- Understanding of Flow Manufacturing concepts that use Continuous Improvement and Kaizen events.
- Must be computer literate, either through schooling or previous work experience

Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $93,000 and $112,000 and includes a possible 12% quarterly incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
