Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic installs, maintains, repairs, dismantles, overhauls, reassembles, adjusts and tests various types of plant machinery, equipment structures and electrical or electronic equipment.    

The Maintenance Mechanic will:

  • Weld, braze, scrape, solder and cut various types of metals necessary for maintenance repairs and fabrication of new components and equipment
  • Perform a variety of trade functions such as plumber, mason, carpenter and metal worker, etc. in performance duties
  • Construct rigging and scaffolding
  • Move heavy machinery and equipment
  • Lubricate, grease, and oil plant machinery and equipment

The Maintenance Mechanic should have:

  • Experience installing, maintain and troubleshooting various types of machinery
  • Experience with 480v motors and controls
  • Experience reading blue-prints, wiring diagrams, shop hand-books and layouts

Qualifications

  • 4 years of relevant work experience OR 2 year technical degree
  • Journeyman cardholder preferred
  • High School degree or GED
  • Basic PC literacy (Word, email, basic data entry)
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. on a regular basis
