Job Description
The Superintendent – Process Operations will:
- Lead operations teams in reagents, water treatment, and tailings to maximize operational efficiencies and value from resources, plant, and equipment.
- Ensure safety, environmental stewardship, and team development while maintaining zero lost time injuries.
- Manage operational downtime, implement improvement initiatives, and ensure adherence to critical parameters set by the Metallurgical team.
- Participate in Gold Standards program and promote continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement operating systems, procedures, and protocols for safe and efficient service area operations.
- Collaborate with Operations Superintendent to provide adequate support across the process facility.
- Oversee supervisor development of training plans and succession planning for critical roles.
- Ensure compliance with International Cyanide Code and NPDES requirements.
- Work closely with environment and projects teams to manage issues and maximize plant operational time.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- BS in Mineral Process Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field preferred
- 10+ years of supervisory experience in mineral process plant environment, preferably in gold processing
- Detailed knowledge of mineral process unit operations for gold recovery from pyrite ore
- Thorough understanding of Global Standard on Tailings Management and International Cyanide Code
- Experience with data historian trends for operating and reporting functions
- Strong background in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to lead and manage multiple teams of full-time employees and contractors
- Proven track record in developing systems to assess process team performance
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software

Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
- Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 25 pounds) during the course of the workday.
- Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber safety-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
