Job Description
Olsson offers its clients a full spectrum of water services, including a complete line of planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services.
As a Licensed Engineer on our Water Resources team, you will independently execute standard engineering techniques and procedures, while exercising judgment to make minor adaptations and modifications. You will be provided guidance on assignment objectives and complex features, and there will be work involving standard plans.
This role is pivotal in generating innovative ideas and creating designs that deliver purposeful, high-quality solutions to meet our client's engineering and design needs effectively.
Key responsibilities a Licensed Engineer can expect in this role include:
- Project Management: Oversee small to medium projects, including developing scope and schedules
- Technical Leadership: Lead hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, master planning, and the design of stormwater projects such as channel stabilization/restoration, storm drainage and flood control systems, culverts, impoundments and discharge structures, and water quality improvement features
- Design and Estimation: Preform design calculations and prepare probable cost estimates
- Reporting: Write comprehensive project reports
- Construction Oversight: Review submittals and perform construction observation as well as construction administration at various job sites
- Mentorship: Mentor and guide technical staff

A Licensed Engineer on the Water Resources team can expect occasional travel to job sites for observation and to attend client meetings.
We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in being located out of our Little Rock, AR office.

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Registered professional engineer status
- Proficient knowledge of federal, state, and local design requirements and safety laws
- Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (SWMM, HEC-RAS, etc.)
