Job Description
Olsson delivers a boutique creative design experience to our clients and our people, backed by the expertise and resources of our whole company. The Project Landscape Architect generates ideas and creates designs that provide purposeful, high-quality solutions to successfully solve design needs and bring landscape visions to life.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs detailed landscape architecture tasks such as project design, cost estimates, and design calculations utilizing advanced knowledge and experience.
- Prepares project documents and adheres to project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Independently performs complex assignments that require development of new and improved techniques and procedures.
- Coordinates across other Olsson teams and directs team members on design tasks.
- Works closely with project managers on execution of design work, reports overall progress, and informs project managers of any potential problems to ensure project goals and objectives are met.
- Assists with project scope of work and schedule or portions of them and may attend client meetings.
- May supervise, coordinate, and review work for less experienced staff members.
- Maintains project and client information in the firm’s project management system.
- May travel and work in all types of terrain and weather conditions at project sites in various stages of construction.

- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture
- Must be a Registered Landscape Architect with a minimum of six years of landscape architecture experience
- Solid interpersonal and decision-making skills and the ability to generate innovative and effective solutions to complex problems
- Advanced mathematical and analytical abilities
- Demonstrates skill with design-based software applications including, but not limited to, CAD, geographic information systems, and graphics programs for laying out projects.
- Working knowledge of and the ability to diligently research applicable requirements and regulations.
