Job Description
Join Olsson's Power Delivery team as a Group Leader and provide daily leadership and direction to a high-performing group of professionals specializing in master/work plans, underground subdivision design, community solar design, distribution automation projects, and short circuit arc flash studies. In this role, you will oversee staff management, professional development, and group performance while fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. You will ensure project excellence, drive client satisfaction, and contribute to the team’s success in delivering impactful, high-quality solutions to meet energy demands.
Responsibilities:
- Guide and manage the group’s daily operations, including setting performance expectations and goals that align with team objectives.
- Monitor and optimize the group’s project performance, employee utilization, and workload to ensure efficiency and identify improvement opportunities.
- Oversee project management, quality control, and execution, ensuring successful and timely completion of deliverables.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for group members by identifying goals, offering constructive feedback, and recognizing achievements.
- Communicate effectively with the group to align on initiatives, goals, and expectations while fostering accountability.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of service through effective communication and responsiveness.
- Collaborate with other group leaders to align objectives and share best practices across teams.
- Support business development efforts, including client strategy, proposal development, and pursuit efforts for new and repeat clients.
- Uphold safety standards and regulatory compliance in all projects and group activities.
- Attendance to conferences and travel to other Olsson offices are approximately 25%.
We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in being located out of our Lincoln, NE, Omaha, NE, Denver, CO, Loveland, CO, Overland Park, KS, Joplin, MO or Phoenix, AZ office location.
Qualifications

You bring to the team:
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience, including at least 4 years supervising technical personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and oversee successful project execution.
- Knowledge of underground line systems, solar design processes, and ARC flash analysis is strongly preferred.
- Professional engineering license strongly preferred.
