The Chillicothe Mill is located in beautiful southern Ohio, a short drive south of the state capital Columbus.  Operating three paper machines, this historic mill is a cornerstone of Pixelle’s operations offering excellent opportunity to the right individual to make a difference to the operations and community.

Role

The Shift Supervisor-Utilities is responsible for oversight of the Utilities operations and supervision of the department hourly operators.  This role is suitable for recent graduates and experienced professionals.

Accountabilities

• Safety leadership and compliance for employees.
• Environmental compliance.
• Direct supervision of hourly employees assigned to the rotating shifts.
• Train and provide guidance to Department employees.
• Initiate and enforce all Company systems, policies, and procedures.
• Hold self, team members, and all in the facility accountable for their duties, behaviors, and actions.
• Coordinate operations and maintenance activities, as well as daily communication with other shift supervisors and managers throughout the facility.
• Equipment responsibilities include supervising the operations of the following units:  kiln, recaust, power boilers (gas and wood), recovery boiler, turbines, and incinerator.

Requirements

• One to three (1-3) years’ experience in utilities, paper mill, or comparable industry. 
• Steam licensing preferred.
• Experience and familiarity with powerhouse operations.
• Good computer skills, familiarity with process control interfaces.
• Exhibit strong people skills.
• Problem identification and solution implementation.
• Level head when in stressful upset conditions.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and organize a group of people to accomplish those tasks.
• Integrity, be self-motivated and driven.
