As a Business Unit Director at Publicis Groupe, you will provide strategic media insight, thinking and direction for the clients and business you work on.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Takes overall responsibility for the VISA PO1 team (media and creative), running of the day to day as well as the strategic outputs for the unit.

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 

· Business Unit Director with a minimum of 7 years media experience, with a thorough understanding of Digital and ATL media

· Thorough understanding of all planning and buying processes.

· Thorough understanding and experience of Media Agency processes and tools

· Experience managing teams, mentorship and leading top talent across multiple verticals of both media and creative agencies.

· Strong client service skills, focused on building and managing strong partnerships.

· African agency collective co-ordination

 

THE JOB DESCRIPTION

 

You will be required to run our VISA Power Of One unit, including media and creative, to ensure the success of the requirements on the account. As the BUD on the account, you will be responsible for ensuring that that the team meet their deliverables, deadlines and KPI’s collaboratively.

 

You will need to lead the teams, the contractual delivery, operational adherence, financial management and output quality and turnaround within your portfolio. The BUD needs to ensure the effective delivery against the contracted Scope of Work, Service Level Agreement, Protection of Data and Financial Remuneration on the account.

 

You will need to work seamlessly within the PO1 unit (strategists, planners, buyers, campaign managers, creative), as well as with supporting departments (Ad Operations, Finance, Data Science, Buying teams, etc.) to ensure

1. The smooth briefing and running of campaigns in accordance with the briefs

2. Quality of work output is of the highest standards

3. Drive internal collaboration so that the unit runs as one team

4. Manage client expectations and drive client satisfaction

5. Retention and growth of the VISA business

6. A full understanding of the VISA business objectives, and providing solutions in line with these so we are seen as valued business partners

 

This role demands confidence, presence and the skills to make a meaningful impact. Never just taking and executing orders, the BUD is expected to direct, inspire and add value at every turn. As the BUD,

you will need to be proactive, steer and direct the team, and together with the direct team and in-direct partner teams, solve client, operations and strategic briefs and challenges.

 

A high level of collaboration, a willingness to teach others and a real desire to push the boundaries is what will be expected. As the BUD, you will need to be an example of how to best collaborate with internal and external agency partners. As you will be working in an integrated fashion, you will need to constructively highlight possible creative gaps on creative delivery for media execution.

 

In addition, this role requires a high level of accountability and responsibility over the media and creative investments we are entrusted to manage. As the BUD, you need to ensure the team is correctly pacing, tracking and delivering against targets and KPI’s.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

· A marketing / media / communications degree, diploma or certificate

· Google Fundamentals of Digital Marketing

· Facebook Blueprint Planning

· Thorough understanding of creative tools and processes

 

EXPERIENCE

· At least 7 years of media experience in agency.

· Background in creative agency along with media expertise.

 

HARD SKILLS

· Able to effectively project manage

· Comfortable Presenting

· Numerically strong and analytically able

· Strong communicator with effective interpersonal relationships across team and clients

· Advanced IT skills including Microsoft Word, best-in-class Power Point, Excel, Outlook and web-based applications.

· The ability to synthesize and reduce different inputs to create a well-considered and accurate representative view.

· English fluency and language skills for effective business writing

· Strong presentation skills

· Solid data interpretation and analytics skills

· Be able to exercise strategic principles and structured thinking to tackle business development projects assigned by client

· Be able to select appropriate frameworks, tools and approaches to use in solving client problems
