Job Description

The Senior CRM Strategist provides cross-channel, data-driven marketing strategy development to reach our clients’ key audiences. This role is responsible for day-to-day strategy development and opportunity identification for direct digital marketing programs. These programs will support complete customer lifecycles: pre-purchase to post-purchase to ongoing engagement and loyalty.

The ideal candidate should have experience developing audience insights based on owned data, establishing and managing program engagement strategies, and deriving insights from campaign performance. They should be comfortable navigating ambiguity and providing clarity and focus for cross-functional teams. They should be detail oriented with an ability to maintain a view of the big picture and a have a deep understanding of bringing to life consumer engagement strategies through addressable/owned channels including email, push, direct messaging, and others. In addition to addressable/owned channels, the ideal candidate should be familiar with the addressable paid media environment and opportunities to orchestrate and end-to-end consumer experiences across channels (e.g., social, search, programmatic OLA/OLV, etc.).

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Identify Owned Channel Strategies: Develop owned-channel recommendations across email, push, direct messaging, and other owned channels to enhance overall performance across client lines-of-business including insight definition, audience approach, program strategy, creative briefing, and performance/reporting insights
  • Audience Insights: Develop a deep understanding of observable audience behavior within the 1st party customer database as well as established models and tools for audience management and development
  • Creative Briefing: Develop insightful creative briefs to provide focus and direction to creative teams responsible for developing channel-specific and overall campaign/program assets
  • Reporting Insights: Partner with Data Science/analytics to elevate performance observations into actionable recommendations built on data
  • Client Business Immersion: Develop a deep understanding of the clients’ category and unique business dynamics within the category

Skill Requirements:

  • Express complex ideas clearly in conversation, presentation and prose
  • Ability use analytics and industry knowledge to produce actionable insights from program and database performance, with an emphasis on understanding key drivers and identifying new opportunities to fuel continued growth
  • Self-starter with the ability to pick up a project and move it forward with limited direction
  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative input from multiple sources to generate first-party database insights
  • Collaborate cross-functionally in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with Adobe Campaign, Salesforce Marketing Cloud or other marketing automation / campaign management platforms
  • Write insightful creative briefs and steward the creative process
  • Originate and edit presentations to create excitement and sell ideas
  • Comfortable operating in an ambiguous and dynamic environment

Qualifications

  • As a guide, 5–7 years developing and managing owned-channel marketing programs (including email, push, direct messaging, and other owned channels) at an agency, consultancy or within a marketing department
  • Specific expertise in developing and managing email channel marketing programs
  • Familiarity with all addressable/owned channels and programs, including email, push, SMS, web personalization, direct mail
  • Mining of an audience database for insights to drive database growth
  • Deployment and management of automated email marketing solutions

Compensation Range:  $73,500 - $100,500 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
