You will join our Water Infrastructure & Climate Adaptation group

In joining our team, you will be part of an internationally leading company within the area of climate resilience with professionals working in a collaborative environment in the areas of Climate Resilience and Cloudburst Planning; Flood Reduction and Risk Mitigation, including use of Blue-Green- infrastructure (BGI), Nature-Based-Solutions and other Protection Measures; Watershed Management Plans; and Integrated Infrastructure Planning and Design.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

The position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Leads or assists in identifying and pursuing business development opportunities within service lines, spearheads, sectors, key accounts and/or growth initiatives;
  • Actively engaged in client development, cross market, cross service line/spearhead and/or cross geography collaboration;
  • Directs or manages the development, planning, execution and close-out of medium to large engineering projects of varying complexities, focusing on municipal design and construction projects;
  • Provides technical, project delivery, and financial oversight/guidance to project team;
  • Provides practice area leadership and vision for staff;
  • Finds opportunities for continual improvement in our business processes;
  • Manages budgets and scope, project team resources, schedules, subcontractors/ subconsultants, procurement, project risks, KPIs and cash flow;
  • Manages project conformance with respect to quality and safety guidelines;
  • Demonstrates ability to obtain repeat business from existing clients and performs as trusted client advisor;
  • Achieves positive client feedback as determined by project closeout and client satisfaction surveys;
  • Coaches project team members to develop their project performance, in collaboration with Division/People Managers;
  • Mentors others to develop their project management skills, in collaboration with Division/People Managers;
  • Proficient at developing project scope, schedule and budget, and assembling and managing project team/resources that are proficient in the technical aspects of the project.

  • Professional Engineer certification/registration
  • B.S. Degree in an Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil field
  • 25+ years municipal engineering experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) policy and CSO control engineering.
  • Experience with local, state and federal permitting programs.
  • Experience in managing project teams to deliver site development, water distribution, sewer conveyance and separation, CSO control, stormwater management, and green infrastructure projects.

Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include:  Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across diverse planning and engineering project teams, as well as ability to apply comprehensive knowledge in the specialty areas (CSO control and general municipal engineering) to manage technically complex or specialized projects or activities, which have a significant impact on the local department and often a direct impact on the local market.
