Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Rope Access Blaster/Painter (Level I/II) to join our offshore team in the oil and gas industry. This position requires professionals who are certified in Rope Access (IRATA Level 1 or 2) and have expertise in blasting and painting in offshore environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with surface preparation, coating applications, and working at heights, combined with offshore safety certifications.

As a Rope Access Blaster/Painter, you will be responsible for performing high-quality industrial blasting, painting, and surface preparation work while utilizing rope access techniques to reach difficult-to-access areas. The role also involves working closely with safety teams to ensure that all tasks are carried out in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct rope access operations safely and efficiently for maintenance and coating tasks.
  • Perform rescues when required, using advanced rope access techniques (Level 2).
  • Ensure all equipment is inspected, maintained, and operated in accordance with industry standards.
  • Prepare surfaces (e.g., sandblasting, shot blasting) for coating applications.
  • Apply coatings using various methods, including spray painting and brush techniques.
  • Ensure that the coating system is applied according to specification, providing long-lasting protection.
  • Perform detailed inspections to ensure the quality and durability of the coatings applied.
  • Work in offshore environments, dealing with challenges unique to working on platforms, rigs, and other offshore structures.
  • Experience in Gulf operations or similar offshore settings is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Education:

    • High School Certificate (H.S.C), Diploma, or Degree in a relevant field.

  • Certifications:

    • IRATA Level 1 or Level 2 Rope Access Certification (mandatory).

    • OPITO-approved TBOSIET (Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training).

    • H2S Awareness Certification.

    • NACE or SSPC Blasting/Painting Certifications (preferred but not mandatory).

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.

    • At least 4 years of experience in offshore blasting and painting.

    • Technicians with Gulf Region experience are highly preferred.

  • Physical Fitness:

    • Must be physically fit and capable of working in challenging environments, including heights and confined spaces.
