Business Office (BO) North America is a team of experienced leaders engaged in diverse projects & industrial investigations to support the transformation of the company to be a leader in Sustainable transportation. This includes but not limited to including leading complex, cross -functional Industrial Investigations, ensuring our industrial strategy is aligned with the global product strategy, collaborating with our Cab & Vehicle Assembly (CVA) plants on the Master Plans & Investments & driving NA trade compliance for Volvo Grp in NA. We lead and collaborate with teams and functions throughout the entire value chain for the Group – technology, operations, supply chain, sales, and digital & IT.
BO is structured within the NA Manufacturing Engineering Organization under Global Truck Operations (GTO) division.
This position will be based in Greensboro, NC, and report directly to the Director of Business Office Conventional Range.

ROLE DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Industrial Project Manager for North America, you have the primary responsibility to connect our public funding efforts with our Product and Industrial projects to enhance the impact of our investments. Working with our Product and Industrial projects to ensure requirements of grant programs are understood and achieved through projects.
You will also have responsibility to:

  • Report to Principal Investigator on behalf of the various project teams within grant program
  • Manage overall grant program budget planning and follow up (track / report).
  • Collect and compile input from all necessary project teams to report on program status
  • Track, document and report on milestones, deliveries and gates
  • Field questions from Principal Investigator (technical & financial)
  • Represent Volvo and grant program in external events as needed
  • Participate in Product and Industrial project meetings to share impacts/benefits of grant program
  • Support Industrial investigations/projects within Business Office

Qualifications

WHO ARE YOU?
We are looking for candidates with the following skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, International Business or Engineering and 3-5 years practical and related business experience
  • 2-3 years Project Management experience (PMP preferred)
  • 2-3 years’ experience working with cross functional teams
  • Previous working experience with Government Agencies is a plus
  • Strong leadership skills & ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to travel as required (up to 30% of the time)
  • Knowledge and experience strategic planning, Operations & Volvo Performance System (VPS) preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, coordination, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in risk and change management
