In this role you will be responsible for transporting residents on regularly scheduled trips and special events and maintaining community vehicles. You will also be responsible for supervising and directing the work activity of the drivers.

Job Description

  • Must be familiar with corporate, state, insurance accident and incident forms and reporting policies.
  • Must instruct drivers in preventive maintenance of vehicles.
  • Schedule drivers for daily transportation of residents and or staff.
  • Schedule resident’s appointments as they provide the information for their specific trip.
  • Dispatch drivers or self for resident requests of return trips from their appointments.
  • Be prepared for emergency trips (picking up residents being discharged from hospitals, rehab, etc.) as needed or to preform requests from administration and or other department team members.
  • Ensure all vehicle inspection tags, license and insurance cards are current and displayed properly.
  • Maintain clean appearance of the vehicle(s) by performing/scheduling regular interior/exterior cleaning.
  • Respond immediately and appropriately to all accidents and emergencies.
  • Report mechanical needs and repairs and assist in coordination of necessary vehicle maintenance and repair service such as oil changes and tire rotations.

Qualifications

Level of Formal Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of educational experience.
Years of Experience: Must have 3-5+ years of driver experience
Special Certifications: Valid/Current Commercial License (CDL) rated C-CDL according to state law w/ passenger endorsement

Language: Acceptable fluency in English in order to perform job duties and speak, read, write, and communicate with supervisors, coworkers, residents, and applicable third parties.
Skills and Abilities: 

  • Ability to time manage well. 
  • Strong organizational skills due to organizing many schedules. 

Personal Attributes: Knowledgeable of the area of operation
Other/Preferred:

  • Safe driving record in accordance with Senior Lifestyle Corporation driver policy.
