Job Description

We are looking for a strategic, innovative communications professional to join our growing Global Communications team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for internal and external storytelling strategies with the goal of building trust, loyalty, and advocacy for ServiceNow. We are looking for someone who skillfully manages competing priorities, is a quick and creative thinker, excels at building relationships, is process oriented, and brings rigorous attention to detail and a sense of urgency to everything they do. The ideal candidate will ensure both internal and external communications are inspiring, emotional, relevant, and deeply connect with target audiences.     


Working collaboratively and with an integrated team across the company, this individual will serve as the executive communications lead writer, supporting one of our dynamic C-level leaders.  

What you get to do in this role:  

  • Serve as the primary writer for the President and Chief Finance Officer  

  • Understand the communications landscape and needs of various audiences, regularly updating and evolving materials to reflect changes to business priorities, supporting narratives, and the external environment.   

  • Lead with curiosity and with journalistic integrity to recommend new places and thought-provoking topics. 

  • Write executive-level assets including storyboards, blogs, thought leadership articles, LinkedIn posts, LinkedIn articles, award applications, and initial scripts for speaking engagements, while also balancing the need to pair messages with visual graphics.  

  • Lead Internal efforts that include scripts for townhalls and companywide speaking engagements.  

  • Work across the communications team to ensure message alignment and consistency across all audiences, including customers and partners.  

  • Own executive thought leadership.  

  • Establish and design processes to ensure timely execution through final publication and governance of all content.   

  

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have: 

  • 10+ years journalism or corporate communications—internal communications, public relations, and executive communications experience. 

  • Journalistic curiosity, hunting down new stories and angles to share  

  • The ability to capture an executive’s voice  

  • Exceptional messaging and writing skills; attention to detail and accuracy in all communications deliverables.  

  • Experience building and executing a multi-functional communications strategy. 

  • Experience in technology and a desire to work collaboratively with senior leaders, their teams, agency partners, business partners, and vendors. 

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment; strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to drive coordination across stakeholders. 

  • Business maturity and experience working with senior executives. 

  • Ability to manage multiple communication projects simultaneously and drive strong outcomes. 

  • BS/BA degree required; advanced degree preferred.

For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $137,500 - $240,700, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
