Job Description
Square is looking for a Director to join our US Account Management leadership team. You will be responsible for driving success within our US SMB Retail vertical - managing front line managers and their respective teams. Your impact in this role will directly influence Square’s growth and retention strategy for small to medium size Retail businesses. Your experience will be a valuable contribution to our approach in preserving and improving the merchant experience, nurturing a culture of growth mindset, and investing in leadership development. This is a remote role that reports directly to our Head of US SMB Account Management.
You will:
- Lead a team of front line managers and their direct reports (revenue generating account managers)
- Act as a leader and decision maker in goal setting, incentive structures, and establishing performance levers
- Partner cross-functionally with finance, sales, marketing and product teams to drive go to market initiatives for our Retail vertical
- Drive improvements to the Account Managers and sellers’experience through close partnership with teams across data science, automation and analytics
- Report on performance and metrics at an executive level
- Bring a creative, merchant centric and collaborative mindset to the work you do each day
Qualifications
You have:
- 5+ years of leadership experience, with proven success leading managers
- 8+ years of experience in high growth sales, account management, or relevant product roles
- Interest in supporting, growing, and empowering SMB businesses
- Successful track record of leadership development
- Proven ability to work with and influence cross-functional teams and departments in a rapidly growing environment
- Ability to influence senior leaders via written or verbal communication
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and change management skills
- Extensive experience in a metrics-driven sales organization
- Project management skills and ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously
- (Preferred) Experience in high transaction volume SaaS application

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $190,300 - USD $232,600
Zone B: USD $177,000 - USD $216,300
Zone C: USD $167,400 - USD $204,600
Zone D: USD $161,800 - USD $197,700
