Cash App has recently introduced a new feature called Cash App Investing. Now you can instantly buy stock with as little as $1 using our free fractional trading feature! The Compliance team is looking for a Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to lead the broker-dealer compliance program for our subsidiary, Cash App Investing LLC (CAI). We are looking for CCO who has deep experience in broker-dealer regulatory compliance and experience developing and leading compliance programs for a retail investing business. The CCO will play a critical role in overseeing the daily management of CAI’s compliance program and will also lead efforts to further develop the programs that support the investment arm of the fastest growing, mobile consumer financial application. This person will report to the Head of Cash App Compliance.
Core competencies include: broker-dealer regulatory compliance experience, people leadership, creative problem-solving skills, executive presence, and innovative mindset.
You will:
- Lead the CAI’s broker-dealer Compliance team and program
- Develop and implement policies and procedures designed to meet applicable securities regulatory requirements
- Establish, review, test and modify policies and procedures designed to achieve compliance with applicable securities laws and regulations and FINRA rules evidenced in annual FINRA Rule 3130 certification
- Develop compliance-related training to employees of the broker dealer and partners across affiliated entities
- Provide management and oversight of CAI’s trade surveillance program and the handling of customer complaints
- Provide oversight of regulatory advertising programs, including approval processes and regulatory submissions
- Advise product and engineering teams on regulatory requirements related to new products and existing product enhancements
- Keep up-to-date with developments in, securities laws and regulations that pertain to CAI’s products
- Support third-party vendor oversight, ongoing risk reviews, and due diligence
- Prepare and submit regulatory form filings (e.g., Form BD, Form U-4, Form U-5)
- Manage regulatory relationships and lead development of responses to regulatory examination requests and ad-hoc inquiries
Qualifications
You have:
- 10+ years of experience in financial services regulation including experience related to broker dealer compliance functions and retail brokerage
- FINRA Licenses: Series 24, Series 63 and Series 7 required. Series 65 / 66 preferred
- Background in managing compliance support teams within a broker-dealer environment
- Expertise in developing a broker dealer’s annual certification under FINRA Rule 3130
- Handled customer complaints and interactions with securities regulators, including FINRA and the SEC In-depth SEC/FINRA regulatory knowledge and reporting requirements.
- Experienced with FINRA regulators and related examinations, engagements, and on-site reviews
The interview process includes a phone interview with a recruiter and the hiring manager and then a video interview with the compliance team and business partners from the Cash App team.
