Job Description
The Senior Compliance Operations Specialist will work in the Terms Of Service and High Risk Merchants Compliance team. The role will be responsible for onboarding reviews of high risk merchants, enhanced due diligence, and ongoing monitoring of Square Sellers for violations of Square's Terms of Service or other policies as directed. This position reports to the operations lead for the Terms of Service and High Risk Merchants Compliance team.
Qualifications
You will:
- Conduct onboarding reviews of high risk merchants, including enhanced due diligence review of the merchant, document collection and verification, and making final compliance decisions based on the information provided
- Conduct ongoing enhanced due diligence of high risk merchants within policy
- Review and act on alerted accounts for activity that violates Square's Terms of Service
- Using knowledge of BSA/AML typologies and red flags, identify potentially suspicious activity for further investigation
- Respond to escalations from internal stakeholders
- Communicate with Square customers by email and CRM on compliance-related matters
- Help with the development and documentation of scalable processes and procedures
- Monitor and advise management on the status of assigned queues and other responsibilities
- Identify potential areas of opportunity within the program and work with management and other stakeholders to build scalable solutions
Additional Information
You have:
- 4+ years of BSA/AML compliance experience in customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, transaction monitoring, or investigation
- Experience developing and maintaining procedural and program documentation
- The ability to identify downstream impacts of actions and how they impact our merchants and recommend meaningful changes to improve difficult merchant experience
Even better:
- Fintech / Payments compliance experience
- Experience with high risk merchant monitoring
- Compliance related certification (CAMS, CFCS, CKYCA)
- Proficient in MacOS and Google Workspace
