Job Description

As the Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption (ABAC) Program Lead, you will develop, implement, and manage Block's Global ABAC program. This role requires an understanding of compliance, risk management, and regulatory requirements related to bribery and corruption. You will work with multiple teams across the organization both in the U.S. and internationally to ensure adherence to Block's ABAC Policy and supporting procedures. You will join the Block Compliance Global Policy & Governance team and work closely with members of the Block Compliance Leadership and Regulatory Counsel teams.

You will:

  • Provide senior leadership with guidance concerning, ABAC related industry developments, trends, risks, issues, and incidents
  • Maintain Block’s ABAC Policy and Program, and support functional and international teams in development of localized policies and controls
  • Conduct and support targeted risk assessments to identify potential bribery and corruption risks and develop appropriate strategies to mitigate
  • Keep up to date on regulatory developments and ABAC leading practices in the jurisdictions in which Block operates
  • Working with our Compliance Training function, develop and maintain ABAC and related compliance training and communications, including specialist training based on specific roles and duties performed
  • Work with other expert Compliance Policy areas, including: Ethics / Conduct; Global Sanctions, AML/CTF and Third-party Risk Management to align and develop joint control strategies. 
  • Be brought into specific specialized due diligence projects, including Merger & Acquisition activity
  • Build and maintain successful relationships both internal and external to Block, including presenting the ABAC Program to auditors and external partners.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of private sector or government experience in ABAC, broader anti-financial crime and risk management 
  • Experience developing and managing ABAC programs in large, complex and multinational organizations
  • Strong working knowledge of ABAC laws, regulations and industry best practices, in particular, the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) US FCPA and the U.K. Bribery Act
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information to senior management
  • Experience with international compliance requirements and programs
  • Experience in coaching, motivating and developing teams, including working effectively across different functions.

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g. CAMS, CRCM, CFE)
  • Deep domain expertise in data analytics and visualization platforms
  • Industry experience working in consultancy practice, development of tools/systems to support scale and efficiency across enterprise risk or compliance risk management domains.

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $163,600 - USD $245,400
Zone B: USD $152,200 - USD $228,200
Zone C: USD $144,000 - USD $216,000
Zone D: USD $135,800 - USD $203,600
