Job Description
What we do:
A key challenge of the energy transition is to ensure a stable and efficient energy supply with a noticeable increase in the share of wind and solar energy. Our intraday trading team in Düsseldorf is making an important and exciting contribution to this. We manage one of Europe’s largest renewable energy portfolios on the relevant short-term markets, thus enabling the successful integration of wind and solar energy into the energy market.
Your role:
Learning on the job: You will work on the pulse of short-term energy trading. You will work independently, but also supported by intraday traders and analysts on your projects and will be able to bring your fundamental knowledge of the European power markets to the highest level.
Creativity and innovation: An important part of our work is the development of our models and algorithms, which are based on machine learning, time series and statistical data analysis. Here, you can also develop your own trading ideas and subsequently experience their success in the market.
Contribute: You will support us from the very beginning in the further development and improvement of our performance forecasts for wind and solar energy, as well as other price and fundamental forecasts.
International working environment: You will work in a very international environment, which is characterized by competence, willingness to innovate and a start-up atmosphere.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a university, ideally in a quantitative or commercial discipline
- Solid quantitative skills
- Interest and first experience in programming, ideally in Python
- Knowledge of version control techniques (Git) and / or data visualization techniques (Dash, HTML, Java Script) is a plus
- Proactive and independent way of working
- Enthusiastic and passionate about the energy market and the energy transition
- Very good English skills to ensure optimal collaboration in an international team
