Job Description
We are currently looking to recruit an Operations and Maintenance Monitoring Engineer who will be responsible for monitoring our PV plants daily and coordinating with the regional service engineering resource to undertake any planned and reactive works. You will also be required to compile the monthly report for each PV plant incorporating the inputs from the Data Analysis team and the regional service engineering team to issue to the client. As a O&M Monitoring Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all site activities related to your portfolio adhere to Statkraft’s H&S systems, as well as regulations covering environmental protection.
- Responsible for maximising the performance, availability and profitability of a portfolio of PV plants through daily monitoring of the systems. Being one of the primary points of contact for internal clients.
- Monitoring the PV plants daily and coordinating with the regional service engineering resource and O&M teams to undertake any planned and reactive works.
- Assist with compiling the monthly report for each PV plant incorporating the inputs from the Data Analysis team and the regional service engineering, and issue to the client when necessary.
- Monitor a portfolio of PV plants and highlight issues as they occur in real time; carry out daily checks on solar monitoring systems to look for issues that are affecting performance and if found, document through a ticket and own the resolution by coordinating the internal and external resources to undertake reactive works
- Track the performance and availability of each PV plant as KPI’s and report this on a daily and monthly basis to Asset Management/ O&M Teams, providing explanations for any anomalies
- Visit site(s) on an occasional basis to meet stakeholders and update on issues first hand
- Liaise with contractors or other staff for updates on the work they are doing and update the applicable tickets
- Review and understand the O&M contracts applicable to each PV plant and ensure that we fulfil all our contractual requirements
- Assist with determining the specific maintenance requirements for the full list of equipment on each PV plant, and ensure this is covered in the planned maintenance schedule
- Assist with generating contingency plans covering issues like HV equipment failure or module defects, so that if these happen the plan can be actioned immediately, subject to the contract
- Handle incoming calls/emails from customers and suppliers – respond by raising tickets and own the resolution
- Ensure all works on the sites are undertaken in accordance with Safe Systems of Work / The Statkraft Way by reviewing and approving risk assessments and method statements that cover all the works, which must be a precondition for access to the site
- Assist with access control to all the sites through the CCTV security company to arrange access for contractors getting on and off our sites
- Participate in face to face customer service reviews when necessary and arrange the follow up actions
- Understand and participate in corporate social responsibility plans and take responsibility for development in this area
- Accountability for construction safety and quality and need to ensure that all projects across the region are following corporate standards
- Monitor sites at weekends on a rotating basis (usually 2 days per month, 2-3 hours per day only
Qualifications
- University degree or experience in a similar field in renewable energy
- Strong communication, planning & organising and technical skills
- Service Focused with good relationship building and good management skills including organisational ability and demonstrated ability to prioritise
- Excellent application of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project (or equivalent), Share-point and other applications
- Full driving licence
- Customer service experience
