Job Description
As part of the Front-end Enablement team for IT Development, you will lead and coordinate a team of UX/UI designers, collaborating closely with developers at various expertise levels to standardize front-end practices, technologies, and deliveries across Statkraft IT, spanning Norway, Germany, England, and India.
You'll engage directly with business users across different departments, gaining insights into producing, selling, and maintaining renewable energy assets. You’ll also learn about hydrology, power markets, and preventive maintenance. Your work will help streamline user experiences, enabling our teams to accelerate their essential work. As a key contact for new business initiatives, you’ll build and maintain an extensive network across the organization.
We use Figma as our primary design tool and have established a component library that you’ll help maintain and further develop.
About the team
The Front-end Enablement team consists of 6 UX designers and 8 front-end developers. We meet weekly to collaborate on our design system, share updates, and solve challenges together. Our team thrives on mutual support, creating a collaborative environment where we learn from each other and help solve tough problems together.
Key responsibilities:
- Shape and articulate a cohesive design strategy that aligns with both user needs and our global front-end strategy.
- Oversee and evolve the Statkraft design system in collaboration with your team.
- Lead and mentor UX/UI designers, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Ensure the quality of design deliverables through regular reviews and feedback.
- Champion user-centred design principles by conducting user research and identifying new needs within the organization.
- Contribute to creating consistent, user-friendly applications across Statkraft IT.
- Support team members in solving design and technical challenges
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in UX Design or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience as a UX designer, with proven leadership skills.
- Expertise in design system principles, implementation, and continuous improvement.
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Norwegian.
- Extensive experience in client engagement and managing stakeholder relationships.
Nice to have:
- Experience developing with Angular or React.
- Industry knowledge in the energy sector.
- Familiarity with time-series data and data-driven approaches.
- Experience working in large organizations.
- A background in graphic design.
- Experience collaborating with cross-cultural teams.
