Job Description

ROLE:

The Purchasing & 3PL Co-ordinator ensures that proper procedures and processes are followed in order to satisfy our customer orders by our 3PL warehouse. You will function as the liaison between the 3PL warehouse and management. The Purchasing & Third Party Logistics (3PL) Co-ordinator will oversee and benchmark partner performance and recommend corrective action if required. You will also support procurement activities on a day to day basis.

Qualifications

This role involves the following key duties and responsibilities:

  • Direct supervisory responsibility and first point of contact for the 3PL warehouse.
  • Develop strong and integrated relationships with our 3PL warehouse partners and communicate our business model accurately to them.
  • Oversee daily 3PL transactions to ensure all required processes are completed in a timely manner; including the processing of inbound shipments and outbound shipments.
  • Reconcile inventory on a weekly basis from 3PL warehouse and the internal backend system.
  • Resolve discrepancies as needed and perform cycle counts when appropriate.
  • Thorough understanding of 3PL warehouse operations and administrative functions. Strong working knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory management and pricing structure a plus.
  • Review and audit all 3PL warehouse invoices against contract rates.
  • Produce daily/weekly and monthly performance reports and implement corrective actions with 3PL partners if appropriate.
  • Oversee and manage regular stock counting and stock taking activities.
  • Purchasing of printer ink cartridges, office supplies, packaging etc.
  • Preparation of purchasing requisitions/orders to ensure on-time delivery of products.
  • Liaise with suppliers to chase up outstanding orders.
  • Liaising with customer services, QC, returns and warehousing functions.
  • Ensure relevant paperwork flow is consistent and timely.
  • Collating data for KPIs on supplier delivery performance and schedules.
  • Develop and maintain supplier/customer relationships to ensure that communication and supply of information is at the highest level both internally and externally.
  • Ensuring that all objectives are in line with the company’s business plan and objectives.
  • Accurately maintain the appropriate administration of processes for reporting and tracking Responding to internal and external queries.
  • Updating systems accurately.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful for this position of Purchasing & Third Party Logistics (3PL) Co-ordinator; you must have excellent communication and time-management skills. You will have experience in a similar role and be immediately available or have a short notice period. In this role you will be expected to hold a variety of tasks and issues and you must be able to provide examples of that in your previous work history.

Full UK driving licence is essential.

This is a very fast paced business and the candidate must be highly motivated with an ability to analyse, prioritise and problem solve quickly and accurately, with a hands-on approach whilst keeping calm under pressure.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet, Microsoft Outlook; Word; Excel.

Reasoning Ability:

Must utilize independent judgment to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Must have strong negotiation, organizational skills and extreme attention to detail. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be a team player with ability to work alone unsupervised.
