Job Description
About the role:
The Class is seeking a passionate, experienced, and people-centric leader to oversee our NY and LA studios. An entrepreneurial go-getter, you will lead the strategy and manage the team to exceed performance goals and nurture a best-in-class experience for our students, teachers and team members. Reporting to the VP of Experience, the Head of Studio will be responsible for the NY and LA studio strategy, P&L, team management, retail management and overall quality of the experience in our studios. Elevating our service standards, you will ensure every interaction reflects our commitment to excellence and hospitality. You will be responsible for creating and fostering an inclusive, warm, welcoming, and high-touch environment for everyone who enters our doors.
What you’ll do:
You will develop a strategy to exceed revenue targets and improve overall profitability of the studios
You will be responsible for the day to day oversight of the NY studio operations to ensure an excellent and welcoming student, teacher and staff experience
Foster the The Class community and culture in all aspects of the studio experience
You will be accountable for leading a team of employees and creating a positive, motivating and inclusive environment with continuous attention on training and development
You will manage, mentor and provide leadership and guidance for the studio team in NY
You will manage, mentor and support growth opportunities for the Studio Manager and studio staff in LA
You will develop a staffing and coverage plan, which will include your own personal in-studio oversight of the NY studio
You will manage the day to day of the NY studio including scheduling, payroll, shift coverage, studio maintenance, customer service, and employee trainings
You will enhance the studios visual aesthetics by collaborating with our founder and Creative Director to create an elevated ambiance that reflects our brand’s identity and values
You will oversee all operations and logistics for the studios ensuring staff are properly trained and supported to deliver excellent in-person classes
You will collaborate with our VP of Production to ensure in-studio staff understand and execute protocols for live streaming to our Digital Studio
You will develop a plan to produce and monetize in-studio events, private classes and community workshops
Be a hospitality champion and role model that provides exceptional service to students, teachers and staff, and inspires others to do the same
Confidently manage conflict in high pressure situations
You will develop and roll out studio policies and procedures aligned to the brand strategy and company values

Available to work off hours and holidays as needed to support the studio teams in LA and NY which operate 7 days a week
Ability to travel and able to spend time in LA up ~4x per year
What you’ve done:
You have proven leadership ability with at least 5 years of management experience in fitness, retail, hospitality or a customer service business
You’ve successfully managed physical fitness studios or similar
You have increased revenue and/or profitability of business units
You have hired, managed, and mentored successful, engaged teams
You have experience developing and managing to revenue targets and operating budgets
You have proven experience in hospitality management or a related field, with a track record of creating exceptional guest experience
Additional Information
Salary
The approximate salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. The exact salary offered may vary based on job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education and training, business needs and market demands.
