Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and committed, ECE qualified and registered teacher to join our dynamic team, within our homely yet spacious heritage style centre nestled in the heart of the University of Auckland’s city Campus. With exceptional teacher-child ratios, Alten Road caters for children aged between 3 months and 6 years. We are committed to providing learning and teaching for our future generation that is of high quality, innovative and progressive. We are a mixed age setting and this opportunity is for qualified kaiako who is passionate about working mainly with the younger group of children.
This position is full-time (40 hours pw), and the successful applicant would have wonderful opportunities for professional growth alongside a learning community that values whakawhanaugatanga.
Salary range is between $50,000 - 70,000 based on years of exepreince and qualifcations.

Our expectations are that you are:
- A New Zealand qualified and registered teacher, who has a natural nurturing qualities, who is passionate about children’s learning
- Able to work with all age groups, mainly our younger group of children
- Self motivated, enthusiastic and able to match current theory into practice and demonstrate a working knowledge of Te Whāriki
- Able to communicate effectively, confidently and respectfully and committed to creating/maintaining strong, positive relationships with the learning community
- Able to work with a team who have a strong emphasis on whakawhanaungatanga (relationships and how we relate to others) and a collaborative work approach
- Able to demonstrate a growth mind-set, be open and willing to reflect and change to support us to continue providing quality interactions and learning to all children under in our care
