Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We are looking for a Project Manager – internally called a Project Operations Coordinator. The purpose of this position is to work with the study principal investigator (PI) to plan and execute the ‘NZ Methamphetamine Treatment Evaluation Study’ in accordance to the study timelines, scope, budget, ethical approval, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) and to complete the deliverables contracted by the funder (Health Research Council of NZ). 

Some other responsibilities include:

• Develop project documentation
• Prioritise study objectives
• Establish processes for project governance and quality assurance/risk management.
• Community Engagement /study promotion

The salary range for this role is $64,600 – $79,800 per annum depending on qualifications and experience. This is a part time, 24 hours per week, fixed term role for 3.5 years.

Our ideal candidate will have the below:

• Appropriate qualifications in a relevant social or health sciences discipline such as psychology, sociology, nursing, pharmacy, or medicine.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a project co-ordinator, project manager, clinical trials study manager or research nurse in a university setting or Health sector.
• Previous experience in successfully managing project teams working on health-related research.
• Experience of, or understanding of, managing study budgets
• Experience of working with Māori and their whanau.
• Health sector experience
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results to the appropriate quality and timeline.
• Proven computer skills
• Culturally aware
• Experience of, or understanding of, managing budgets.
