Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The School of Medical Sciences is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor to join our collaborative and dynamic team to provide high-quality education to our students.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development, organisation and delivery of teaching within Nutritional Science and Biomedical Science and related subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, using a variety of innovative pedagogical approaches and supervise research students towards Honours, Masters and Doctoral degrees.

The salary range for this role is $110,570 - $144,526 depending on qualifiactions and experience. This is a full time, 40 hours per week, permanent role.

Qualifications

He kōrero mōu | About you

  • PhD (or equivalent) in a research area relevant to Nutrition
  • 3-4 years’ experience in teaching relevant aspects of nutrition to undergraduate and/or postgraduate students.
  • Highly motivated in the delivery of student centred learning  
  • Have a track record of publishing peer-reviewed articles in international peer-reviewed journals and gaining external funding in the area of applied and/or basic nutrition and  metabolic health and nutrition. 
  • Demonstrable independent line of research and ability to build a research program.
