Job Description
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
The Store Coordinator is responsible for procurement, inventory, and compliance activities of the SBS Store facility within the School of Biological Sciences, including the inwards and outwards goods functions. The SBS Store supplies a range of laboratory stocks to staff and postgraduate students. This is a front-facing role, interacting with a wide range of people which requires a high standard of customer service and communication. Expertise in stock management, and experience in dangerous goods handling are key attributes for this role.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Maintain stock levels of laboratory consumables in an onsite store via the Scitrack software purchasing platform
- Complete internal orders for staff and postgraduate students
- Accept all inwards goods/ delivery of chemicals, consumables and laboratory equipment for the School.
- Facilitate service delivery by external suppliers
This is a permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours per week)
Remuneration: $50,000 plus, dependent on experience

The Faculty of Science’s Technical Services Team comprises over 100 technical staff providing specialist support to the Faculty’s academic staff and students across 9 of the 10 Departments. They contribute technical knowledge and expertise to research and teaching activities while ensuring the ongoing operation and compliance of a vast range of laboratories, workshops, teaching facilities, research equipment, vehicles and boats.

You are an organised and efficient team player with a “can do attitude”; able to adapt in an everchanging environment.
To be successful in the role you will be/have:
- At least 3 years’ experience in a co-ordination or administrative role
- High level of competence with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Highly organised, detail focussed, and prompt
- Experience with handling chemicals
