Job Description

Ubisoft Milan is looking for a QA Analyst who, as first gatekeeper of quality, will work within the development team to ensure that high quality standards are defined, met and maintained during the whole production period.  

The QA Analyst acts as a link between Developers and QC Testers: taking directions from the Production team, the QA Analyst will work closely with all departments to ensure they meet their goals; then, sharing news and info the Quality Control, leading their routines and ensuring the new features are robust and meet the design requirements. 

The main activities consist in formulating test plans for Functional QC based on design documentation (including plans to inform, guide and evaluate automated testing), tracking issues to the very end of production, overseeing the status of the build according to the current milestone needs, reporting bugs and issues clearly and concisely, verifying that the bug-fixes are satisfactory and do not bring new regressions with them, performing smoke tests to ensure the status and stability of the build. 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Build and enact Quality Control processes, routines and best practices;
  • Formulate Test Plans based on design;
  • Master Bug Priority and Push for urgent fixes during key project milestones;
  • Inform and support Build Pipeline and Automation Teams regarding quality needs;
  • Inform on Frequency and Environment requirements for Manual and Automated testing, master testing efficiency;
  • Perform quick functionality checks, find and report bugs in a concise manner;
  • Perform regular regression to validate that bugs are fixed;
  • Determine test needs with development teams, Associate Producers and Production Coordinators;
  • Validate new content, features and fixes by the development team for both quality and functionality before those changes are submitted to the game;
  • Track bugs entered in the database (Jira) and manage the assignment of those bugs respecting Ubisoft internal priority system;
  • Proactively give feedback on the significance of the bugs encountered, the status of the build and your perception of the game’s quality;
  • Maintain good communication and productive collaboration with the development team by constantly sharing issues encountered with team members and developers.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as QA Analyst / Dev Tester in a videogame company;
  • Have an eye for detail and ability to detect bugs;
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to different technologies and pipelines;
  • Knowledge of the video games industry and its common terms of reference;
  • Passion for making and playing games;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software;
  • Fluent in English.

As a Bonus:

  • Familiar with Game Design topics;
  • General knowledge about Versioning Systems (e.g. Git, Perforce);
  • Familiar with Bug Tracking Systems (e.g. Jira);
  • ISTQB Certification and/or similar.
