Pay Rate: $29.00 per hour.

Position Purpose:
The Relief Operator / Instrument Technician will provide backup coverage for the primary operator(s) at the treatment plant and assume all duties and responsibilities of the primary operator(s) in their absence. When not assisting with the plant operations, he/she will maintain and repair all necessary, critical and dynamic electronic infrastructure equipment related to the treatment of wastewater at the wastewater treatment plant and at sanitary sewer pump stations, to assure optimal operation and to maintain regulatory compliance.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision, installs, maintains, calibrates, troubleshoots, repairs, modifies, and overhauls the indicating, recording, metering, and controlling instrumentation used to measure and control variables (i.e. pressure, flow, level, temperature, motion, force, UV and chemical use).
- Trouble shoot SCADA and associated systems for the Princeton Meadows WWTP and related remote lift stations.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and inventory records, including ordering parts and equipment, as needed.
- Update Operations and Maintenance documents, as necessary.
- Maintain maintenance and repair records on equipment and systems.
- Work independently and/or with engineers and vendors to install, startup, test new control systems or modify existing systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot electronic and specialized equipment (i.e. gas monitors).
- Analyze, troubleshoot and maintain data communication systems Interface with utilities, as necessary.
- Reads and works from schematics, electrical blueprints and drawings.
- Works with electrical equipment rated up to 120 volts; this work shall include the maintenance and/or installation of items at any facility where instrumentation related work is scheduled for that particular employee.
- Responsible for work completion and record keeping on all regulatory compliance documentation.
- Operates company systems, devices and software applications.
- Performs other similar or less skilled work,assigned.
- Assists employees of a higher classification, as assigned.
- Must attend Safety Training Classes per Company policy.
Work Environment:
- Work involves intermittent exposure to confined space entry areas, potential hazardous gasses, heights, weather, noise, dirt, dust, organic waste, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical energy, and on the water environments.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Must keep abreast of changing technologies by acquiring and maintaining the skills and knowledge needed; company will provide any required training for new technology.
- Must operate power tools and equipment.
- Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem solving-skills and ability to independently follow through on tasks and projects.
- May be expected to work on-call rotation, and overtime during off hours and Holidays.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Must have a valid Motor Vehicle Operator License.
- Must comply with Company and OSHA safety standards.
- Must obtain Wastewater S1 or C1 License within 2-years of hire.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have manual dexterity and ability to bend and kneel.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to climb tanks and work in vaults and confined spaces.
