Job Description

Visa seeks an enthusiastic, Senior Analyst to join our Global Security & Safety team in Miami, FL. As a Travel Security Analyst, you will work as a key member of the wider Global Security & Safety team, providing critical monitoring, analytical intelligence, and directly reporting to the Head of Security for the LAC Region.  The Senior Travel Security Analyst also serves as the main point of contact for the intake and escalation of all issues as reported by employees, contractors, and outside agencies.  This position monitors all worldwide events, (open source, social media, news, etc.) in real-time, assesses the real or potential impact upon client persons, property, or assets, and provides accurate and timely notification of these threats to all appropriate employees.

Essential Functions

  • Use internal and external systems (internet, newsfeeds, and other data sources), to monitor risks that could have an adverse impact to organizational assets, facilities, and personnel.
  • Research, analyze and process open-source information to produce strategic travel briefs, and security risk assessments that provide Visa Travel Security with site security, protective intelligence, and global awareness.
  • Create and maintain data bases effectively and convert raw data from non-related reports/sources and merge it into a tailored product for the organization.
  • Investigate incidents/briefings, and create accurate and timely incident reports, escalating to the appropriate persons as necessary.
  • Travel Tracking – Employee Travel Outreach and actively monitoring safety conditions.
  • Generate briefing reports of emerging situations based on information received.
  • Country Risk Assessments and Recommendations – Security/Medical Guides.
  • Develop and manage communications to key stakeholders throughout an incident life cycle.
  • Collect, analyze, and share intelligence to support corporate investigations.
  • Leverage technology, reporting, and investigative skills to respond to requests, initiate, and resolve cases.
  • Provide case documentation by gathering, organizing, and preparing intelligence and evidence.
  • Social Media Monitoring – Threats Against Client Interest (Property, Personnel and Operations).
  • Current Event Monitoring – Open-Source Media, internal and Vendor Alerts (GSOC, Crisis24, WorldAware).
  • Follow procedures accordingly as it relates to best practices, directives, and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 2 or more years of work experience in Corporate Security and Emergency Management with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD).
• High level of competency with advanced computer systems (e.g., hardware, software, and networks).
• Experience using Microsoft Office Products such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Experience in a role that required strong writing, oral and editing skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in verbal and written communications in English and Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications
• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD).
• Formal education or experience in the following disciplines: in Corporate Security, Emergency Management, International Affairs, Political Science, Public Administration, Security Studies, Strategic Intelligence, International Business, or Journalism.
• Experience working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment such as corporate security, emergency operations center, or a major urban area fusion center.
• Ability to identify and solve complex problems and carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision, at times under adverse and stressful conditions.
• Experience with mapping and/or intelligence/information management systems.
• Ability to quickly forge productive relationships and build networks at all levels, internally and externally.
• Experience evaluating open-source information (media, social media, and unclassified government websites) to conduct incident analysis.
• Experience working with global risk intelligence and incident response software.
• Experience working with geographic information systems.
• Experience managing complex data sets.
• Experience creating infographics.
• Analytic and critical thinking skills.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
