Job Description

The Visa Live Event Production Engineering team is seeking an experienced Live Event Engineer who is passionate about improving Visa's live events and studio productions. This position reports to the Live Event Engineering Manager at the new Visa San Francisco Mission Rock office. Our team is committed to being a reliable partner in creating highly engaging live events and high-quality broadcasts. We take pride in our innovative approach and constantly push the technical boundaries of broadcast and video production.

We are looking for an innovative, self-motivated leader capable of leading and executing any event or broadcast request. Deep technical knowledge of pro-A/V, video conference technology, live event production, studio production, post-production, and streaming/broadcast is essential. The ideal candidate should understand best practices and stay ahead of industry trends.

This position involves extensive collaboration and entails building essential partnerships with various stakeholders, including Executive Administrators, Marketing, Communications, IT, Facilities, Construction and Real Estate, and production vendors. The candidate will be crucial in developing and implementing new technologies and innovative solutions throughout Visa's event spaces. The ideal candidate should be able to motivate others, maintain a positive can-do attitude, demonstrate exceptional organization, exhibit determination in problem-solving, work well within a team, and communicate effectively with executives and stakeholders.

Essential Functions:

  • Promote live event engineering services to other business units and build a trustworthy relationship
  • Take the lead in supporting events and broadcasts and make decisive decisions to resolve issues
  • Oversee the daily event production workload, manage schedule changes, and ensure smooth transitions
  • Establish accountability, set short-term and long-term goals and objectives
  • Generate reports and KPIs to monitor team performance and efficiency
  • Utilize expertise to address technical challenges and ensure tasks are completed
  • Develop and implement innovative pro-A/V solutions for training rooms, event center auditoriums, and multi-function rooms
  • Manage A/V requirements and collaborate with stakeholders, general contractors, IT teams, facilities, vendors, etc. to maintain and update live event spaces according to A/V life cycle
  • Ensure that all pro-A/V solutions comply with Visa's network and security policies by providing analysis, designs, implementation, and support strategies
  • Offer exceptional customer service consult with internal clients to discuss, plan, and support their event requirements
  • Handle request tickets and ensure timely response to all requests
  • Monitor all pro-A/V equipment, conduct dry-run tests, and perform preventive maintenance
  • Lead proof-of-concept (POC) tests and validation on new and emerging pro-A/V technologies
  • Develop, update, and maintain all documentation and wikis
  • Establish and incorporate pro-A/V standards for all hardware and software related to live event productions
  • Provide training and guidance to other team members

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in supporting events in a corporate environment
  • Customer service-oriented with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Experience in managing resources and escalations
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects
  • Track record in designing and building live event production fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in configuring, deploying, and supporting professional video switchers, digital audio boards, MAMs, editing workstations, lighting controls, routing distribution, and streaming encoders
  • End-to-end event production experience from conception to post-production
  • Proficient in post-production workflows using Adobe Premiere and After Effects
  • Ability to build MAMs around central SAN storage
  • Experience in managing pro-A/V technology life cycle in a global enterprise environment
  • Experience in proposing event production, innovation, and projects and reporting to executive leadership
  • Knowledge of construction project impacts to facilities (i.e. rack elevations, HVAC, lighting, environmental control, room acoustics)
  • Audio DSP programming and Dante network experience
  • Familiarity with Crestron and Extron matrix switchers
  • Understanding of networking, firewalls, proxy, NDI, NVX, HLS, RTMP, fiber channel, CDNs
  • Excellent written and presentation skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams Live Event and enterprise video platforms
  • CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D Certification
  • Experience deploying VIZRT, Analog Way, QSC, Ross, Allen Heath, Vmix, OBS
  • Experience Operating VIZRT, Analog Way, QSC, Ross, Allen Heath, Vmix, OBS, and PTZ cameras
  • Familiarity with Pearl2, Elemental encoders
  • Experience with high resolution LED displays
  • Experience with Logitech, Poly, Neat
  • Expertise in using ticketing systems like ServiceNow or JIRA
  • Experience in using webcast platforms such as VBrick and Microsoft Teams Live Events
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Visio

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 87,800.00 to 124,100.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
