Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) is the externally-facing strategy consulting group of Visa that drives tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa’s network clients, including both financial services and merchants. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, data analytics, brand management, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients, leveraging the extraordinarily rich data sets that Visa derives from the more than 3 billion cards transacting on our network generating over 100 billion transactions each year. Our clients span the continuum of companies that participate in the payment card industry, to include financial institutions, merchants, fintechs, acquirers, and payment processors.

 

The North America Practices team within VCA is a team of industry experts in customer lifecycle, data-driven solutions, risk, strategy and digital consulting, with decades of experience in the payments industry. The team offers:

The Portfolio Optimization Practice is the largest practice area in North America and the team lead is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the team. As a Director, Go-to-Market Lead, you will lead one of the core pillars of the Portfolio Optimization Practice, devising and driving commercialization strategies of high-impact data and insights-driven solutions for Visa’s clients in the North America region, from issuing banks to merchant and acquiring clients. You will work directly with the client-facing segment leaders to enable sales of offerings that help drive the client’s credit, debit, and cobrand portfolio optimization initiatives, with the goals of growing revenues and driving efficiency and margins. You will also coach consulting teams in understanding the solutions, gather feedback from consultants and clients around usage of existing solutions, and support in ideation for solution enhancements and/or new development, focusing on areas of priority for Visa.

 

Our typical solutions address our clients’ need across their customers’ lifecycle, including:

  • Driving customer acquisition & activation

  • Increasing spend in specific customer segments

  • Driving spend diversification (including digital, merchant categories, and card on file)

  • Predicting and mitigating customer attrition and improving retention

 

Specifically, the role’s responsibilities will include:

  • Owning the strategy of Portfolio Optimization solutions and offerings to align with Visa’s client needs and broader strategy

  • Driving solution sales by identifying potential opportunities in Portfolio Optimization across all segments of VCA, including issuers, acquirers, merchants, processors and fintechs, and creating and managing supporting sales materials as well as thought leadership content

  • Engaging with Visa leaders in regular strategic & planning discussions, cultivating and managing a pipeline of work related to Portfolio Optimization, such as acquisition, engagement, and retention

  • Partnering with peers in other functional areas (e.g. products, sales, marketing, sales, risk, innovation) to ideating on new solutions and offerings for the Portfolio Optimization practice

  • Developing and cultivating enduring, strategic relationships with internal and external clients and across the Visa organization

 

This position will have two direct reports for support.

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Consulting, product strategy & sales experience, preferably in the financial services industry
  • Experience working in the payments industry or with a financial institution (bank, credit union, Fintech)
  • Previous experience in a management consulting firm or role
  • Excellent communication, story-telling and presentation skills
  • Experience working with financial indicators to measure business performance
  • Strong analytical skills & problem solving ability, with strategic focus on impacting ROI
  • Self-motivated, results oriented individual with the ability to handle numerous projects concurrently

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 150,400 to 256,500 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
