Job Description

The Assistant Product Manager will be a member of the Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) Global Strategy & Operations team and will be focused on supporting the existing Project Portfolio Management (PPM) platform.  This person will report to the Senior Product Manager and will work closely with VCA, regional stakeholders, and our IT development team to identify tool enhancement needs and work with the IT team to ensure the right solutions are implemented in a timely fashion.

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) make up the biggest function within Advisory Services.  Advisory Services is the consulting arm of Visa, driving tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa’s network clients, including financial institutions, merchants, governments and fintechs. Responsibilities:

As a representative of the Visa Project Central (VPC) platform, this individual will be focused on ensuring this critical platform continues to operate with efficiency while continuously improving through regular enhancements. This individual will support sprint-to-sprint development of platform enhancement and communications with regional users, and drive planning for future business initiatives and platform improvements.

Sprint-to-sprint enhancements and user communications:

  • Engage with Regional Leads across the globe to provide insight on upcoming changes, request their participation in testing pre-launch, and respond to their needs and requests for workflow changes.
  • Support engineers by determining what development activity should be slated per sprint, attend daily standups with the technical team, and ensure they have clear business requirements outlined before they start development.
  • Support management of Jira and Jira Align platforms to ensure information is up-to-date and the right stakeholders are involved for each deliverable.

 

Planning for future business infinitives and platform improvements:

  • Drive quarterly planning and annual roadmapping sessions. Collect high priority requests/needs from users, business leaders, technical and support colleagues, and other business teams utilizing the platform. Prioritize initiatives and development activity, aligns on release cycles, and prepare the team to kick off work.
  • Support improvements in education, training, and support tools for platform users, including the creation of improved documentation of platform workflows, utilization of AI tools for chatbots, and creation of new user onboarding pathways.
  • Collaborate with regional business leads and global business colleagues to drive business initiative alignment, vision setting, and product goals. Document and share directions, plans, and updates with business users.

 

Given global nature of the role, flexibility to accommodate meetings across many time zones required.  Most meetings will be with partners in PST, IST, CST time zones.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • Ideal candidate is one who is knowledgeable in agile processes and has experience with workflow management tools, and is interested in gaining experience driving new product enhancements and working closely with product users.
  • Experience using PPT, Mural (or similar), Jira (or similar)
  • -Excellent time management, organization, and planning skills.
  • Able to manage competing priorities and requests, lead and influence others, and manage stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate both with business stakeholders and engineering teams, and to bridge the gap between the two when necessary.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 117,700 to 200.700 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
