Visa Cross-Border Solutions (offers deep money movement capabilities to organisations across the globe. Powered by Currencycloud technology, Visa Cross-Border Solutions enhances, streamlines and simplifies integrating the cross-border financial tools of tomorrow. Clients can embed cross-border finance into the heart of their business and create sophisticated and user-friendly app-based experiences, connecting consumers and businesses around the world. Since 2012, the technology behind Visa Cross-Border Solutions has been used to process more than 250bn to over 180 countries, partnering with banks, businesses and fintech’s all over the world.
This role sits within a fun, supportive and hard-working Lega team, managing a wide variety of commercial legal and regulatory matters. The team supports Visa Cross Border Solutions, a Visa product that provides cross-border payment services to banks, fintechs and businesses. As part of the team you will ensure that Visa operates within the law at all times and offer counsel on legal issues focusing on UK matters.
What we expect of you, day to day.
Provide expert legal advice.
Draft and negotiate agreements with our partner banks, suppliers and clients.
Provide legal advice and support on other commercial matters relating to Visa Cross Border Solutions.
Work with other Visa departments across the globe to ensure agreements and advice accurately reflect business needs, risk appetite and Visa policies.
Responsible for managing day-to-day legal queries.
Work closely with, direct and manage outside counsel
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
• Qualified lawyer with previous experience in a commercial legal environment. We will consider candidates who have qualified in other jurisdictions.
• Demonstrable experience at a recognised law firm or in-house environment.
• Strong academics and training, including legal drafting and negotiating, and relationship management.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills along with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as on own initiative.
• Ability to prioritise and manage a varied and busy workload.
• Positive attitude, high level of integrity and intellectual curiosity.
