Job Description
Team Summary
The Finance Business Partner team is an agile, highly visible team that works using a consultative model with business to apply data to business and finance decisions as well as measure performance.
You will serve as a strategic finance partner to the leaders of Visa’s Advisory Services business and will collaborate with senior leadership to develop financial strategies and analytics to enable business decision making, and lead the long-term planning, forecasting, budgeting, financial analytics for the business. We are looking for a Finance leader, who is a problem solver with great communication skills. You will provide financial insights that enables the business partners to plan, prioritize investments, execute and manage performance.
You are both a player and coach, providing financial thought partnership and analytical support to partners. This is a high visibility role where you will keep senior management informed on performance and support decision making, business reviews, strategy/execution projects, and ad hoc analysis.
What a Director, Finance Business Partner – Value Added Services, Advisory does at Visa:
- Partner closely with cross-regional and cross-functional Finance leads to understand revenue drivers and elevate the level of analysis around revenue and related costs
- Establish and maintain excellent working partnerships with the VAS Advisory delivery function leadership teams, both regionally and globally
- Develop and present strategic insights about the Advisory Services business
- Lead key financial activities for the Advisory Services business, including multi-year strategic planning, annual financial planning, quarterly outlook and business reviews, month-end analytics and management reporting, and on-going financial risks and opportunities assessment
- Provide meaningful driver-based analytics and insights to senior leadership and executive management audience on the Advisory Services’ business’ financial performance and forward-looking outlook
- Understand business levers and recommend measures to further improve financial results and business margins, while assessing financial risks and opportunities, and evaluating options to optimize return on investments
- Establish efficient processes and expand the reporting and analytics capabilities across broader Advisory
- Spearhead ad-hoc projects to further improve the overall performance of the team and organization(s)
- Decision support to senior finance leadership on investment / project decisions as well as strategic organizational and functional developments
- Provide thought leadership and guidance over core processes building efficiencies and streamlining deliverables
- Actively seeks opportunities to introduce new tools and improve analysis used for function communications
- Support the month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting requirements in accordance with deadlines
- Work with limited direction, usually within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations to senior management, functional, or regional management while supporting syndication with stakeholders across the organization
- Work with other VAS delivery functions to ensure VAS leader and Global teams have a clear consolidated view of VAS in AP
Why this is important to Visa
The VAS Function is a relatively new organization in Visa but has been identified as one of the most critical new functions, specifically to diversify and grow Visa’s revenue both in the medium and long term. The FBP will be part of one of the fastest growing functions in Visa over the next few years.
Qualifications
What you will need:
- ISCA / ACCA / CFA qualified or equivalent with 12+ years post qualification experience
- Degree in any relevant discipline
- Previous experience working in a finance division, within a large matrix organisation
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
- Ability to liaise at with global and local stakeholders at all levels
- Substantial experience in a business partnering related role, incorporating planning and reporting duties
- Strong written / verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated critical thinking
- Excel / Word / PowerPoint (advanced)
- Oracle/Hyperion suite of products preferred
- IBM Cognos TM1 preferred
- Power BI preferred
- High energy, motivated team player, able to effectively work across functions and teams to drive projects and key initiatives to completion
- Strong collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible working style, and able to work effectively in a matrixed organization
- Proven presentation skills, including strong oral and written capabilities
- Ability to manage a large number of concurrent initiatives
- Demonstrated working experience in product project management
- A passion for the fintech payments industry and brands
