Job Description

The Development Project Manager is a cross functional role that integrates the management and coordination of web development resources with collaboration with Site Strategists in the design and creation of U.S.-based launches and projects. The Development Project Manager is not only responsible for the development of the site but ensuring that the coding and the components used to build the pages conform to current corporate guidelines.  This management roll will shepherd the development through the various phases of the project: scope, documentation, design, creation, review, publishing and ultimately the maintenance aspect of the launch.

 

  • Work with the site area Site Strategist to coordinate launch schedules and deliverables
  • Attend and contribute to the scoping and scheduling aspect of the launch in client launch meetings
  • Coordinate status meetings with the pertinent Site Strategists
  • Use SharePoint to assign and coordinate development resources effectively
  • Gather all necessary launch assets and hand off to developers
  • Orchestrate all client communications between Site Strategy and developers
  • Track progress of the launch in SharePoint, overall adoption, implementation, search optimization and web metrics
  • Create IT case in Remedy with launch date, press release time of day and key page list to ensure IT is aware. Monitor web publishing activities to measure potential impact on launches. Work with IT to find workaround if necessary.
  • Coordinate and participate in QA testing both before and after key launch deliverables are deployed.
  • Ensure appropriate/current Web Components are being used
  • Verify the DVD entries have been correctly entered and are appropriately scheduled
  • Train developers as necessary with rollout of new components, grids, and templates
  • Be the single point of contact for escalation of development issues, and collaboratively work towards a reasonable solution
  • Proactively identify, measure and mitigate project risks
  • Escalate offshore developer performance issues to the offshore manager
  • Ensure that all pertinent launch information is captured in SharePoint at the end of a launch

Qualifications

Skills Required

  • 5+ years HTML, JavaScript, and CSS coding
  • Technical SEO knowledge and metrics understanding
  • Experienced with adhering to a Corporate Style Guide
  • Be a true self-starter, conscientious and proactive, with the ambition and vigor to integrate in a fast-moving and successful organization
  • Should require little instructions on day-to-day, general instructions on new assignments

 

Recommended (not required)

  • SharePoint experience a definite plus
  • Project Management certifications from PMI (PMP) or other training programs a plus
  • Very comfortable dealing with both technical and business people and able to adjust language and approach appropriately
  • Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written
